North Korea confirms military missile tests
North Korea has confirmed tests of sanctioned missiles. An improved long-range cruise missile has been launched, the state news agency KCNA reported. A warhead for a guided missile was also tested. The reason for this was the visit by head of state Kim Jong Un to an armaments factory that produces an “important weapon system”. Among other things, Kim praised the factory for its role in modernizing the armed forces. The South Korean military reported the launch of unknown projectiles on Thursday. It was probably two ballistic missiles. North Korea is banned from testing missiles and nuclear weapons under a UN resolution.
