New deportation prison in Munich

Refugees who want to apply for asylum in this country have to wait and see whether they are allowed to enter. Others who are not allowed to stay in Germany will be deported. A new building has now been built for both groups at Munich Airport. There is space for 20 deportation detainees in the complex. The transit facility can accommodate 29 people, including families. According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, there were more than 190,000 asylum applications last year. If an asylum application is rejected, the applicant must leave the country. Mostly this is not done voluntarily, said the Bavarian Minister of the Interior Joachim Herrmann. The immigration authorities then have to deport the persons concerned.
