Put another way, if we didn’t do anything, this family would lose 680 euros in purchasing power in view of the enormous price increases. These families pay for their gas without any support. Given the huge price hikes, it’s only fair that the working middle of society is also considered. I appeal, ladies and gentlemen, dear colleagues, I appeal to the federal states to approve this inflation compensation law. It’s about protecting people from additional burdens in a phase of inflation. It is unacceptable for the state to benefit from inflation while families no longer know how to make ends meet with their income.”
