STORY: A new section of the so-called TenneT west coast line went into operation in Klixbüll in Schleswig-Holstein on Friday. As part of the energy transition, the approximately 140-kilometer-long 380-kV power line is to feed renewable energies into the grid. For Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck, the appointment was a home game in many respects. With the activation of the fourth of a total of five sections, 85 percent of the line is now in operation. The progress is not least due to the commitment on site “And that’s the great quality, here at the West Coast Line you need people who get behind it. Everyone must now pull together.” With the completion of the last section in 2023 and the connection to Denmark, the European electricity market integration should also be further advanced.
