Video: Kiev city center rocked by attacks

STORY: Russian airstrikes were again reported from the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday morning. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, spoke on the short message service Telegram of attacks with so-called kamikaze drones. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, several residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district were hit, rescue workers were on duty, and there were initially no reports of injuries. The Shevchenkivsky district is a lively center with universities, student bars and restaurants. The district was hit by several airstrikes last week. In response to the explosion of a bridge connecting mainland Russia with Crimea, Russia ordered the largest-ever air offensive against Ukrainian cities. Ukraine has reported a spate of Russian attacks using Iranian drones in recent weeks. Iran denies supplying the drones to Russia. The Kremlin had not commented on this. Russia denies targeting civilians in its so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine.
