Japanese Coast Guard rescues castaways

The Japanese coast guard rescued a shipwrecked man from distress on Sunday. The man had left for the holiday island of Yakushima, 60 kilometers away, when his boat capsized on Saturday afternoon. The man was able to make an emergency call, but it wasn’t until 22 hours later that the coast guard managed to find him. Wrapped in a plastic sheet, the 69-year-old shipwrecked man clung to the engine of his ship. The rescuers describe it as a miracle that he survived.
