Video: Investigators secure record amount of “crystal meth”

STORY: Spectacular drug discovery in Sinsheim. German security forces have discovered a total of 200 kilograms of high-purity methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth. According to the authorities, this is the highest amount seized in Germany to date, with a street value of between 15 and 20 million euros. Hans Becker, Chief of Police in Heilbronn: “It is also unusual and spectacular because of the way in which these criminal offenses or this criminal offense was ultimately committed. The narcotic was procured in a specially procured, 24 tons heavy hydraulic press from Mexico to Germany and finally to Sinsheim.” For more than a year now, the narcotics department of the Heilbronn criminal police department, in close cooperation with the Heilbronn public prosecutor’s office, has been investigating a 34-year-old suspect who was no stranger to the Heilbronn investigators. Police Vice President Thomas Schöllhammer underscores the criminal energy displayed by the alleged perpetrators: “We have actually never had such a conspiratorial approach by our perpetrators. The effort to build such a press to camouflage drugs We didn’t know that before. On the one hand, it was a masterpiece to pull it off like this. But you see, the effort behind it was necessary to protect the 15 to 20 million that this methamphetamine is worth.” According to the investigators, numerous covert surveillance measures were used. This then led to the realization that the 34-year-old suspect and his 33-year-old accomplice were waiting for a delivery apparently weighing several tons. This was the hydraulic press that was delivered on a Dutch articulated lorry in October. However, not all connections are clear. Therefore, the investigations are continued by a multi-person team.
