In the so-called adjustment meeting of the budget committee, the SPD, Greens and FDP weakened their cuts plans again on Thursday. The debt brake is set to take effect again for the first time since 2019. Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) can still take on up to 39 billion euros in additional debt.
