Docked: first purely commercial flight reaches ISS

STORY: Arrival on the ISS. The first flight with a completely private crew docked there on Saturday. The crew of four arrived at the International Space Station, led by former Nasa astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria. After a journey of around 20 hours and the docking process, the visitors floated onto the ISS and were welcomed there by the international crew. The SpaceX booster rocket and the crew capsule were launched from Florida on Friday – according to NASA and the partners involved, a milestone in the commercialization of space travel. SpaceX was founded in 2002 by billionaire Elon Musk. The mission that has now started is a collaboration between the private companies Axiom and SpaceX on the one hand and NASA on the other. It is the sixth manned SpaceX space flight in two years.
