Comic book heroine Tina Turner
The life of rock’n roll legend Tina Turner has been portrayed in documentaries and feature films, as a Broadway musical and in books – so why not also as a comic, said the editors of TidalWave Comics, which Turner is an inspiring role model for their See readers. The comic shows how Tina Turner grew up in Tennessee, her successes, her difficult marriage with Ike Turner and her strong comeback. The magazine is part of the publisher’s “Female Force” series, in which Dolly Parton, Kamala Harris and Michelle Obama have already been introduced. In October, Tina Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second time. She will be 82 years old on November 26th.
