Cherry blossoms in full bloom
STORY: Blossoming cherry trees transformed this street in the center of Bonn into a delicate pink sea of flowers over the Easter weekend. Passers-by and visitors admired the splendor enthusiastically in sunshine and spring-like temperatures and took advantage of the good moment to take photos. There are currently no corona restrictions during the cherry blossom season. However, the city of Bonn recommends keeping your distance and wearing a mask. Two years ago, however, the old town was completely cordoned off during the cherry blossom season due to the pandemic, while visits were permitted in 2021, but with a mask requirement. The cherry blossom in Bonn attracts numerous visitors to the city every year, including many tourists from abroad. The peak of this natural spectacle lasts about two weeks. In Asian countries, cherry blossom festivals have a special meaning. In Japan, for example, the Hanami cherry blossom festival celebrates the beginning of spring and the beauty of nature together with friends and family.
In Bonn, the blossoming trees attract numerous onlookers every year – and this year without any Corona requirements.
