After 11 days: Eric Frenzel ended isolation

Finally out of isolation in China. Eric Frenzel reported back at a DOSB press conference on Tuesday. “It was just very nice yesterday to see everything again. And to be able to enjoy this feeling of freedom a little bit again.” The Nordic combined had to do without that for eleven days. Because of a positive corona test, he had to isolate himself for eleven days after arriving in Beijing on February 3. In the meantime, he reported to his fans via Instagram. Despite missed competitions, he is now looking ahead. “Yesterday, after the health checks, it was one of my wishes to be able to go out on the track again, just to build up a bit of a feeling that the body can feel a bit of exercise outside of four walls again. It was very nice, even though it was very cold.” The three-time gold medalist said doctors had already allowed him to compete on Thursday. “The health checks were good, went very well for me and from that point of view, the doctors definitely gave me a go for straining.” At first there was a fuss about the conditions of hotel accommodation during the isolation. According to the German Olympic Sports Confederation, these would then have improved.
