Actor Michael Degen is dead
STORY: Michael Degen is dead. The film and theater actor died on April 9 in Hamburg. His publisher has confirmed this. Degen, who also worked as a writer, played in the ZDF series “Dies Drombuschs” in the 1990s, and later also in the film adaptations of the books by the author Donna Leon. He worked with great directors such as Peter Zadek and Ingmar Bergmann. In his book Not All Were Murderers from 1999, which was also made into a film, Degen, who was born in Chemnitz in 1932, reports on his childhood in Berlin. At that time, the son of Jewish parents had survived the Holocaust with his mother in hiding.
According to the Rowohlt publishing house, he died on April 9, at the age of 90 in Hamburg.
