Video: 14 sperm whales stranded in Australia

STORY: Sad find on King Island. At least 14 sperm whale carcasses lie on the beach of the southeast Australian island. According to the Australian Department of the Environment, these are all young males. They were already dead when they were discovered on Monday. Experts are to investigate on site why the animals are stranded. At the same time, the authorities are examining how the carcasses can be disposed of. According to local media, the area may be too rocky to use vehicles to tow the dead animals. They might just have to stay put for natural decomposition. Whale strandings like this have been previously reported by King Island, but the exact reason is still unknown, according to local media.
