Victorine studios host Amazon Prime video training for screenwriters

“Wake up [la] sleeping beauty ”. It is in this way that the municipal councilor subdelegated to the cinema, Henry Jean Servat, illustrated last April, the arrival of the training courses of the National Superior School (ENS) Louis-Lumière in the studios of the Victorine. Six months later, this ambition becomes clearer. The city of Nice, the ENS Louis-Lumière and Prime Video announce the creation of the “Victorine Narrative Lab”, a five-month writing program for the talents of tomorrow.

“It will allow budding screenwriters to imagine, develop and perfect their first feature film,” says Amazon’s video-on-demand service. At the end of the workshop, Prime Video will have the opportunity to acquire the rights to these scripts as a priority, and to develop them in partnership with the author: these projects could eventually become the next Amazon Original films ”. The call for projects will begin “soon” for a program that will run from January to May 2022 at the Victorine studios and online.

An offer that is in addition to the one just present in the region. In Cannes, the Georges-Mélies campus has just been inaugurated and offers training “dedicated to the writing and image professions”, in particular for aspiring screenwriters. For this first year, 1,010 students are enrolled in the 35 possible courses.
