For the national holiday, the Swedish heir to the throne showed themselves radiant to the people and published cute pictures in costume.

Today, June 6th, Sweden is celebrating its national holiday – and the royal family is right in the middle of it as usual. Crown Princess Victoria (45) was already in a good mood in costume with husband Daniel (49) and the two children Estelle (11) and Oscar (7) in front of Stockholm Palace.

Estelle waves glasses

Princess Estelle once again presented her new accessory. The future Queen of Sweden has been wearing glasses for a few months. On two pictures that the royal family on their Instagram page published in advance for the national holiday, Estelle laughed without glasses. The heir to the throne family was photographed at Gripsholm Castle in the mood for the day. Striking: Prince Oscar laughs heartily in the pictures published on June 5th. Since the boy is often seen in a less cheerful mood during public appearances, he is sometimes dubbed the “grumpy prince”. Next to his sister and together with his parents, he beamed into the camera.

On June 6th, King Carl XVI. Gustaf (77) and Queen Silvia (79) and their family along with the people. There is an extensive program: an “Open Castle Day”, to which the royal family also invited on Instagram, the changing of the guard, in which Victoria’s brother Carl Philip (44) took part, and celebrations at the Skansen open-air museum in Stockholm. In the evening there will be a reception at the Nordiska Museet.

The king celebrates 50th anniversary

For the children of the heir to the throne, there had been a lesson in Gripsholm Castle beforehand. There they learned more about their family. “During the visit, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar learned more about King Gustav I. Throughout the year, the Vasa anniversary will be celebrated at Gripsholm Castle with lectures, film screenings and concerts,” said the Swedish royal family. Gustav Vasa was elected King of Sweden 500 years ago.

And another anniversary is being celebrated in Sweden this year: the reigning King Carl XVI. Gustaf has been on the throne for 50 years.
