A vehicle exploded at the toll booth on the American side, near Niagara Falls. Fox News channel spoke of “an attempted terrorist attack” in which two occupants of the car died

The situation is “very fluid”. The Rainbow Bridge, a border bridge connecting the UNITED STATES in Canada near Niagara Falls, was closed to traffic on Wednesday after the explosion of a vehicle, said the FBI office in the city of Buffalo (State of new York). Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke to Parliament about a “very serious situation”.

According to Fox News, it would be an “attempted terrorist attack” with a vehicle containing explosives. Two occupants of the car are believed to have died and a border guard was injured. Canadian Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said there was “conflicting information” about what happened, and that it was too early to “speculate.”

FBI terrorist unit mobilized

According to the Niagara Falls town hall, the vehicle coming from Canada exploded at the American toll level. Images shared by Buffalo’s local ABC channel show a charred car wreck and a heavily damaged toll booth.

The governor of New York State, Kathy Hochul, will go there and “work with the FBI terrorism unit to monitor all points of entry” into her state.
