In January 2022, Florent Pagny revealed that he was suffering from lung cancer. Since then, he has publicly shared his fight against the disease. This is how this Friday March 15, 2024, France 3 broadcasts Florent tells Pagnya documentary directed by his lifelong friend Emmanuelle Cosso (who helped the singer write his successful autobiography Pagny by Florent) and Erwan L’Éléouet, based on an idea by Laurent Delahousse, in which the star of the song opens his heart. The opportunity for him to talk about his tumor but also his musical career and happy days, like his marriage to his beautiful Azucena, mother of his two children.

On February 14, 2006, while promoting his title Where I’ll Take You, Florent Pagny is asked about the gift he plans to give his partner for Valentine’s Day, celebrated on this day. “And then, immediately, I say: ‘Maybe I’ll marry him! I’m going to propose to her, we’re not married yet!’“, he remembers. On the airwaves, he actually says: “We still look at each other and say that we love each other as if we had met last week. So there you go, I think we’ve proven ourselves, we can get married!“Such a beautiful statement which then makes the rounds of the media… and reaches the ears of his mother, who is sorry not to be in the secret.”I don’t know either… What are you talking to me about?“, would then have replied Azucena, who suspected nothing.

Three months later, Florent Pagny and Azucena were named husband and wife! After a civil wedding in a very small committee – there were only 7 of them in total – the couple organized a superb party at the Château de Groussay, in Yvelines. Unpublished images broadcast in Florent tells Pagny.

His wife Azucena arrives in this green setting on the arm of her father, “in a turquoise blue rock princess dress” as he had already revealed in his autobiographical book Pagny by Florent. Aël and Inca, the couple’s two children, are present at their side. Just like Kad Merad, a precious friend, who plays master of ceremonies for a day (Kad Merad is the ex-husband of Emmanuelle Cosso, co-director of Florent tells Pagny). With humor, always. “In the name of the father, the son and the holy poncho I declare you husband and wife“, he says to a laughing crowd. Later, Florent Pagny makes a toast: “I raise my glass to love, night and day and forever. Love !“Then, he ends the evening with a live performance by the star, to the delight of the guests. A happy day that they won’t soon forget!
