Very complicated traffic in Seine-Saint-Denis on Tuesday due to an exercise for the Games

Also, to prepare for the big event, some 60 buses will participate this Tuesday in Seine-Saint-Denis in a traffic exercise to test the lanes reserved for people accredited for the Paris 2024 Olympics, announced the department prefecture.

Organized by Paris-2024 and Île-de-France Mobilités, this two-part exercise aims to better “understand the circulation of a large number of buses/coaches” on the main roads of Seine-Saint-Denis, according to the prefecture, which wishes to warn users of these “very busy sections”.

RD 40 all morning, A1 in the afternoon

The Parisian suburban department hosts a large part of the Games infrastructure (Olympic Village, Stade de France, Olympic Aquatic Center, etc.). A giant bus depot in Aulnay-sous-Bois will also serve as the main storage center for transport vehicles for tens of thousands of accredited people during the Olympics.

Starting from Aulnay-sous-Bois and going to Porte d’Aubervilliers at the entrance to Paris, the 60 buses will test traffic on the left lane of the A1, which will be reserved for passenger transport only. accredited during the competition, as well as “shears” (transverse crossings of traffic lanes) on the course.

The tests will be held between 8 a.m. and noon on the RD40 and between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the A1 in the province-Paris direction. Users of the A1 will be notified of the exercise by illuminated signs.
