Verdict: The new ORF law is unconstitutional – media

It only took two short weeks for the Constitutional Court in Vienna to deliver its verdict after a public hearing. The ORF law, which regulates the interests of public broadcasting in Austria and which was only passed in its current form by the National Council in July, is partially unconstitutional. While in the summer of 2022 it was the fee financing that was declared inadmissible by the Supreme Court in its former form and replaced by a budget levy, in September 2023 it was about the composition of the ORF committees.
