Municipal transport buses and trains will now be at a standstill. The Verdi union is calling on its members to go on a warning strike this Friday. Around 130 companies throughout Germany are affected, with the exception of Bavaria.
Once again, a strike is likely to have a significant impact on local public transport in Germany. In the collective bargaining dispute with the municipal transport companies, the Verdi union is calling its members for next Friday Warning strike. Baden-Württemberg
In the southwest, Verdi has called on employees of municipal transport companies in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Freiburg, Baden-Baden, Esslingen and Konstanz to stop work. The union expects that no buses or trains from the striking companies will run in these cities on Friday.

Berlin and Brandenburg
Commuters also have to prepare for outages in the capital and in 14 districts or independent cities in Brandenburg. The Berlin-Brandenburg transport association names the following companies affected by the warning strike: Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), ViP Verkehrsbetrieb Potsdam, Regionale Verkehrsgesellschaft Dahme-Spreewald (RVS), Verkehrsgesellschaft Teltow-Fläming (VTF), Busverkehr Oder-Spree (BOS), Barnimer Busgesellschaft ( BBG), Cottbusverkehr, Havelbus Verkehrsgesellschaft, regiobus Potsdam Mittelmark, Stadtverkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt (Oder) (SVF), DB Regio Ost GmbH (district: Spree-Neiße), Verkehrsbetriebe Brandenburg an der Havel (VBBr), Oberhavel Verkehrsgesellschaft (OVG), mobus Märkisch -Oderland Bus, Elbe-Elster Traffic Management (VMEE). As elsewhere, S-Bahn and regional trains are not on strike.
Bremen and Lower Saxony
According to Verdi, six municipal companies in Lower Saxony and one in Bremen are affected. In Lower Saxony, the employees of the Braunschweiger Verkehrsgesellschaft, the Göttingen Verkehrsbetriebe, Osnabus and SWO-Mobil in Osnabrück, Stadtbus Goslar, Üstra Hannover and the Wolfsburger Verkehrsgesellschaft are to stop their work, and in Bremen the employees of the Bremer Straßenbahn AG are to stop working.
Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein
The union has called on employees of the Hamburg transport company VHH to go on a warning strike. Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) is majority owned by the city of Hamburg and operates its buses primarily in the Schleswig-Holstein area surrounding the Hanseatic city. On Tuesday evening, Verdi also called on the employees of the Hamburger Hochbahn (HHA) to go on a warning strike on Friday. This means that all subway lines are also at a standstill.
In Schleswig-Holstein, employees of the public transport companies in the largest cities of Kiel, Lübeck, Flensburg and Neumünster as well as the private bus industry throughout the state are also to stop working. In short: there are hardly any buses in the far north.
Hesse
The planned warning strike affects passengers in several cities in Hesse. The all-day strike is likely to lead to massive disruptions in bus and tram traffic in the cities of Kassel and Wiesbaden and also in the subways in Frankfurt. There is also a strike in Offenbach.
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
The “Ostsee-Zeitung” reports that the following companies in the northeast are to be on strike: Ludwigslust-Parchim transport company, local bus (Northwest Mecklenburg), Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG), Rebus (Rostock regional bus), Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Transport Company (Mecklenburg Lake District) , Greifswald transport company (city bus) and Vorpommern-Greifswald transport company.
North Rhine-Westphalia
Commuters in North Rhine-Westphalia must expect significant restrictions on buses, trams and subways. According to the union, the strike affects, among others, the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft, the Rheinbahn (Düsseldorf), WSW mobil (Wuppertal), Stadtwerke Solingen GmbH (Solingen), Stadtwerke Remscheid GmbH (Remscheid), Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe, Stadtwerke Bonn GmbH (SWB). , the Ruhrbahn (Essen) and the Münster municipal utilities.
Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland
“The planned strike measures are expected to affect large parts of the country, as both the municipal transport companies and the private bus companies in Rhineland-Palatinate will be on strike at the same time due to another collective bargaining dispute,” said the Verdi regional district of Rhineland-Palatinate-Saarland. “This will affect all intercity traffic in the affected regions and communities, as well as commuter and school traffic.” All companies and locations of the KRN-Kommunalverkehr Rhein-Nahe, the Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft, the Stadtwerke Pirmasens Verkehrs-GmbH, the Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Verkehrs-AG and the Stadtwerke Trier are affected. Numerous companies have also been called on a warning strike when it comes to buses, including all companies and locations of DB Regio Bus Mitte GmbH, DB Regio Bus Rhein-Mosel GmbH and Koblenzer Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH.
Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia
In Saxony, Verdi is calling on employees of municipal transport companies in Dresden, Leipzig, Chemnitz Plauen and Zwickau to go on an all-day warning strike, reports Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk. In Saxony-Anhalt, companies in Dessau, Halle, Magdeburg and the Burgenland district are affected. In Thuringia those in Erfurt, Gera, Jena, Mühlhausen, Nordhausen, Sondershausen, Suhl/Zella-Mehlis, Weimar, the Weimarer Land district and the Saale-Holzland district.
