Ventilate in winter: How to avoid mold in the apartment when drying laundry

Tumble dryers are practical, but quite a lot of energy guzzlers. It is better to dry the textiles on the drying rack. To prevent mold from forming in winter, you should observe the following tips. If you dry your laundry in your apartment, you have to ventilate it regularly – if possible with a draft. Ventilating in a tilted position is of little use. Although it gets cold in the room, a real exchange of air only takes place when the window is open. Textiles should not hang too close together and should not wrinkle, as this delays drying. Shirts and shirts dry best on a hanger. Spin speed is also important. The higher the setting, the faster the laundry dries. When spinning, the drum should always be full, but not overloaded, as half-full machines waste water and electricity unnecessarily. By the way: laundry can be dried outside even when it’s freezing. The water freezes in the laundry and evaporates directly without first turning into water vapour.
