Pope Francis is making progress in his recovery and will lead the Angelus prayer on Sunday.

According to the Vatican, Pope Francis is still on the road to recovery after his recent illness. The Holy See reported that he would hold the traditional Angelus prayer on Sunday in his Santa Marta residence. From there it will be transmitted to screens in St. Peter’s Square. Typically, the head of the Catholic Church stands at a window of the Apostolic Palace during the Angelus prayer, visible to the thousands of believers in the square.

Because of his illness, Francis canceled his participation in the world climate conference COP28 in Dubai on the advice of his doctors. Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin read out his speech there.

The Pope, who turns 87 on December 17, has been increasingly concerned about his health for some time now. He has already been treated in a clinic twice this year.
