Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough host “The Oscars Red Carpet Show” to prepare for the official awards ceremony.
US actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens (35, “High School Musical”) and multi-talented Julianne Hough (35) moderate the “The Oscars Red Carpet Show”. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced this via Instagram on Wednesday. This TV show gets you in the mood for the 96th Academy Awards. The live format will air on March 10 afternoon local time on ABC.
Premiere for Julianne Hough
Hudgens is leading the official supporting program of the renowned awards ceremony for the third time in a row, Hough is taking part for the first time. The 30-minute special introduces the nominees, actors and hosts and offers viewers an overview of the red carpet arrivals at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
ABC News will also air special coverage before the official pre-show. Preliminary coverage will also be broadcast on ABC News Live until the Oscars begin. Linsey Davis and Whit Johnson will host live from the red carpet.
The 96th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel (56) and will be broadcast live on ABC and worldwide on Sunday (March 10) from 4 p.m. West Coast time.
Hugh Grant turned down Ashley Graham
A red carpet scene from last year with Hugh Grant (63) is unforgettable. The British actor more or less brushed off last year’s presenter Ashley Graham (36) on the red carpet before the Oscars. The short conversation became a hit online.
In the clip, the actor is seen standing on the red carpet with his hands on his hips. “What do you like best about coming to the Oscars?” Graham asked him. After seven seconds of silence and pushing around, he simply said, “It’s fascinating.” The model then wanted to know whether he was keeping his fingers crossed for anyone in particular: “No one in particular,” was the answer. Not to be discouraged, Graham asked if it was fun to star in the film “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” (2022). “I was barely in it, just three seconds,” was Grant’s dismissive reply. “But did you have fun?” she asks. He replies: “Almost.”
Grant received criticism and ridicule for his uncaring answers to Graham’s questions. There is talk of “grumpy” and “rude” in the comments. “And the Oscar for the guy who absolutely doesn’t want to be there goes to Hugh Grant,” complained another user.
