“Vampire nails”, “Ghost nails” and “Pumpkin nails”, three monstrous manicures for Halloween

If you’re the type to dress up from head to toe on Halloween to show off on October 31, here are three ideas for manicures in dark, autumnal colors, with or without iridescent details.

“Vampire nails”, for the most chic

This chic, gothic-inspired manicure has gone viral and has nearly 13 million views on TikTok. Red and black are the two dominant shades of “vampire nails”, which is based on the choice of ombré nails (a vertical gradient) or aura nails (a gradient that starts from the center of the nail).

According to the tutorials, it is possible to reproduce it in two ways. Either using a specific sponge on which the two varnishes are applied before being fixed on the nail, or by using a classic red varnish embellished with black eye shadow on the contour of the nail.

“Pumpkin nails”, for those with a sweet tooth

Notice to fans of the iconic Starbucks drink, the “pumpkin spice latte” is also appearing on the nails, particularly as Halloween approaches, elevating orange and its multitude of shades to the rank of color(s) star(s) of this end of year. Currently, the hashtag #pumpkinnails is popular on TikTok with no less than 21.7 million views, demonstrating users’ enthusiasm for this seasonal manicure.

Unlike “vampire nails”, “pumpkin nails” take on shapes that are as diverse as they are varied. It’s basically about putting orange on your nails by playing with textures, shine, or shades.

The most daring can try drawing pumpkins with a brush, but a simple French manicure with an orange border can do the trick.

“Ghost nails”, to return to childhood

For a regressive manicure, social media users swear by ghosts! Not enough to scare your guests, but an opportunity to return to childhood for an evening. At stake ? White, pastel pink and black (but all shades are actually allowed), sequins, and of course the unmissable ghost motifs hidden under their white sheets. On TikTok, the trend has already crossed the 30 million views mark, rising to the rank of the most popular manicure for the Halloween party.

Just like pumpkin nails, there are several ways to reproduce the “ ghost nails “. Some users opt for a French manicure, with a white border that turns into a ghost on a single nail, others favor ghosts on all the nails, and a handful decorate their manicure with glitter, spider patterns, checkerboard, and even the iconic Ghostface from “Scream”.
