In the second live show of the current season, Ann-Kathrin Bendixen danced with Valentin Lusin. But that could change soon.
Renata and Valentin Lusin have been part of the “Let’s Dance” crew since 2018. The professional dancer, who won with ex-soccer player Rúrik Gíslason in 2021, was actually supposed to compete in the RTL show again this year. Last fall she announced that the 36-year-old was pregnant. The best reason to take a break from the show, she said at the time.
Her husband, who won the trophy with Anna Ermakova in 2023, is still there. On Friday evening he whirled around the TV stage again in the second live show with travel influencer Ann-Kathrin Bendixen alias “Affe auf Bike”. They only received ten points for their Charleston to the song “Scatman” – but another reason could mean that they won’t be in the studio together next week.
“It could happen at any moment”
Because Renata Lusin is now heavily pregnant and “it could happen at any moment,” explained Valentin Lusin RTL when asked. Since the show’s finale doesn’t take place until the end of May, the baby will be born during the current season. The professional dancer is aware of this. “The case will happen, but we’ll just take it easy,” he says, speaking for himself and his prominent dance partner.
The two have already talked about an emergency plan. There are “many wonderful professionals who can step in” should Renata go into labor. For the 37-year-old, the first priority is to be there at the birth: “That really comes first for me,” says Valentin.
This is the first child for the professional dancer and his wife, who have known each other for 20 years and been married since 2014. They fought for their dream of having a family for a long time, but had to cope with repeated setbacks. At the beginning of 2023, Renata suffered her third miscarriage.
