Racing 92 indicated on Monday, by press release, that the medical commission of the LNR pronounced a ban on the continuation of his career in France to Virimi Vakatawa, the center of the XV of France.

“Racing 92 has just been informed of the decision of the LNR’s medical committee to ban Virimi VAKATAWA from continuing his professional career as a rugby player in France.
Particularly saddened by this terrible announcement, Racing 92 gives its full support to Virimi VAKATAWA and immediately put in place all the arrangements to support its emblematic player as best as possible in these particularly difficult times.
A press point will be organized tomorrow, Tuesday September 6 at 12 p.m. at the Plessis-Robinson training center in the presence of Virimi VAKATAWA, Jacky LORENZETTI (Chairman of the Supervisory Board – Racing 92), Laurent TRAVERS (General Manager of Rugby – Racing 92 ) and Fabien GALTHIE (coach of the XV of France).”
32 selections with the Blues
Brilliant player in rugby sevens, Virimi Vakatawa had his first selection with the XV of France on February 6, 2016 during a success of the Blues against Italy (23-21) during the Six Nations Tournament. The one who started on the wing internationally before slipping to the center has 32 caps with the national team for 10 tries.
Vakatawa had been selected for the French team’s tour of Japan in June. If he was not present in the France group during the Grand Slam 2022, the player of Fijian origin has two European Cup finals with Racing 92 and was top try scorer in the Top 14 during the 2018-2019 season, with 13 achievements.
