The scandal surrounding vaccination syringes filled with table salt in Friesland is widening. Now a witness from the vaccination center testified that she had warned in advance about her colleague who was against the vaccination.

According to this, the employee of the vaccination center in Schortens (Friesland district) warned her superiors at the German Red Cross (DRK) five days before the events became known: The later accused colleague could be an opponent of vaccinations and a conspiracy theorist. However, nobody reacted to that. That reported the magazine “Mirrors” on Friday. When asked by the Evangelical Press Agency (EPD), District Administrator Sven Ambrosy (SPD) said that he was not aware of anything. Instead, the investigative authorities would now have to check.

District Administrator: “fatal” process

However, if the accusation proves to be true, it would be “fatal,” said Ambrosy. The district administrator is certain: If such warnings had existed, the DRK should have informed the district as the client. Withholding such information would be a significant breach of the business foundation and would be a question of trust. The incident must be fully cleared up, said the politician.

Special police unit investigated

The accused 40-year-old nurse is accused of having swapped the vaccine for a saline solution in at least six cases at the Schortens-Roffhausen vaccination center at the beginning of April because she broke an ampoule with the vaccine. Because the investigators cannot rule out that the woman has already used table salt several times before, more than 10,000 people now have to be re-vaccinated. More than 3,300 people have already been cared for accordingly. 6,000 further corona vaccination appointments have been agreed according to the district. There is now also a special police unit. She is investigating the woman on suspicion of dangerous physical harm.

Witness received “strange chats”

According to the “Spiegel”, the now public witness said that she had received WhatsApp texts and videos with “confused conspiracy fantasies” from the accused. You have forwarded the messages to your team leader – without a reaction. The DRK admits that the witness announced three days before the crime that she had received “strange chats” from the accused. However, it was not clear that the news was critical of the vaccination or that the accused was an opponent of vaccinations, according to DRK district manager Carl-Martin Köhler.

Authorities had seen no danger

Nevertheless, he asked to collect the chats, Köhler continued. But he did not receive it himself until a few days later. In addition, the police evaluated the suspect’s cell phone and classified the posts as “harmless”. The accused nurse’s lawyer denies the allegations. His client did not act for political reasons – and: There was only one incident. She also pulled vaccine residues from other ampoules onto the syringes, so that every vaccinee received the vaccine.
