It was almost foreseeable. After months of back and forth, the Hesse Ministry of Art and Culture announced on Monday that Uwe Eric Laufenberg, director of the Wiesbaden State Theater, would end his work on January 22nd, i.e. with immediate effect. This was preceded by a months-long dispute between Laufenberg and the theater’s managing director, Holger von Berg. But also between Laufenberg and the ministry.
