Ute Lemper: “I won’t let myself be dictated to how I have to live as a woman”

Ms. Lemper, many years ago Marlene Dietrich advised you to keep your private life secret. She warned you about “the vultures”. You obviously find this advice unnecessary.
Well, I’m not going to talk in detail about 100,000 lovers, which, by the way, I’ve never had.

But some lovers have been?
Many, some might say, it depends on the perspective. That was just part of my life, especially when I was still unattached. In my job, you often don’t have a home or nest for years or decades.
