Do you wear insoles in your shoes? The arch supports are also extremely popular among runners. Germany is a country of deposits. There are no exact figures, but Stiftung Warentest estimated in 2016 that insoles are among the most frequently prescribed medical aids. It’s a well-practiced ritual: doctors prescribe insoles. You can now order them directly to your home on the Internet. In the vast majority of cases, the health insurance companies cover the costs up to twice a year. Patients dutifully wear the cushions in their shoes. Because otherwise – according to the warnings from the medical profession – they are threatened with permanent damage to their joints.

But is that really true? This is the question we will deal with in the new episode of the podcast “She’s running. He’s running.” We took a close look at the latest scientific study on the benefits of insoles. The conclusion from this is not easy, but surprising. Runners in particular can benefit from the new findings. Have a listen.
