USA: Supreme Court deals with Trump’s immunity – politics

The US Supreme Court is unlikely to grant former President Trump immunity for his attempts to overturn the 2020 election. But it is becoming apparent that it will delay the start of the trial.

Thursday morning clearly demonstrated how much the US justice system determines the fate of Donald Trump these days. There the 77-year-old sat in the dock in a cold and austere courtroom in Manhattan, the first former US president to be accused of accounting fraud and election manipulation. Trump would have preferred to go to his golf course in warm Palm Beach, far away from the stiff breeze that is delaying spring in much of the US East Coast.
