President’s son Hunter Biden is suing former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani

What role does Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer Rudy Giuliani play in Hunter Biden’s laptop affair? In the president’s son’s opinion, a fatal one. In a lawsuit he accuses him of nothing less than the “destruction” of his “digital privacy”.
Biden: “Total destruction” of “digital privacy”
Hunter Biden accuses Giuliani of nothing less than the “total destruction” of his “digital privacy.” He and his former lawyer Robert Costello invested an “incredible amount of time and energy” in “searching for, hacking, falsifying, manipulating, copying and distributing data stolen from Biden’s devices,” the lawsuit says. It was almost an obsession.
Hunter Biden accuses Giuliani and Costello of violating a computer fraud law, among other things. The 53-year-old is demanding damages in an undisclosed amount. The president’s son is himself under pressure: in mid-September he was charged with illegal possession of weapons. There is also an investigation against him for suspected tax fraud.
“Laptop from Hell”
The laptop affair continues to make headlines and dates back to April 2019. At that time, Biden dropped off his computer at a repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware, but never picked it up. The owner of the store, Trump supporter John Paul Mac Isaac, then said he made copies of the data stored on the device and passed it on to Giuliani’s then-lawyer Costello.
The conservative tabloid “New York Post” reported a few weeks before the 2020 presidential election that it had obtained data from the laptop through Giuliani. Accordingly, emails found on it should show that Biden used his father’s position for business in Ukraine in 2015, who was then US Vice President and was responsible for his country’s Ukraine policy. In a TV duel with Biden before the election, Trump spoke of the “laptop from hell.”
Repair shop owner also sued
Since then, emails, documents and intimate photos of Hunter Biden that are said to have come from the computer have repeatedly been made public. Last March, the president’s son sued the owner of the repair shop as part of a legal counteroffensive.

The opposition Republicans have been attacking Hunter Biden for years and are trying to harm his father politically. In the House of Representatives, Republicans recently launched an impeachment inquiry against the president. The first impeachment hearing is scheduled for Thursday. Republicans accuse Joe Biden of being involved in his son’s controversial foreign deals. There is no evidence of this yet.
