STORY: The Powerball lottery jackpot of around two billion US dollars has been hit in the USA. The winning ticket was sold in the state of California, the organizer announced on Tuesday. The shop’s owner, Joseph Chahayed, describes his surprise early in the morning: “I got to work at 6 a.m. and then the people from the state lottery came and they told me they had good news for me. The chance of hitting the jackpot is about one in 292 million. For comparison, the risk of being struck by lightning in the United States is about one in a million.
