US authorities are currently investigating threats against Colorado Supreme Court justices who made a ruling declaring Trump unfit to be president.
The police in the USA are investigating after an explosive verdict against the former US President Donald Trump in the state of Colorado made threats against the responsible judges.
“The FBI is aware of the situation and is working with local law enforcement,” CNN quoted a statement from the FBI. A Denver police spokesman told Axios that they were investigating incidents targeting Colorado Supreme Court justices. The police are making “additional patrols around the judges’ residences.”
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled last week that Trump was unfit to serve as president because of his role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. That’s why his name should not appear on ballot papers in the state. The last word has not yet been spoken here. The case is likely to end up before the Supreme Court in Washington. But for Trump and his supporters, the decision was a major defeat.
Trump is fighting on several legal fronts
Trump wants to move back into the White House for the Republicans after the 2024 presidential election. But the 77-year-old has to fight on various legal fronts. He will probably have to face four criminal trials in the election year, for example because of his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He lost to Democrat Joe Biden back then, but to this day does not recognize his defeat and spreads the lie about election fraud.
The Republican used the Christmas season to post a series of hateful messages on the platform he co-founded, Truth Social. He railed against Biden’s government and the judiciary and wrote of “criminals” in his own country who wanted to destroy the USA with open borders, inflation, a lack of energy independence or the “electric car madness”. “May they rot in hell. Again: Merry Christmas!” he added in capital letters.
