USA: Gay resigns as Harvard president – allegations of anti-Semitism and plagiarism – Politics

First the anti-Semitism debate, then also allegations of plagiarism: the president of Harvard University has resigned. Several Republicans are now seeing this as their own personal success.

Most recently, Claudine Gay was not only under pressure because of anti-Semitism at Harvard University and her reaction to it as president, but also because of increasing allegations of plagiarism. She could possibly have moderated one of the two topics, but she wore herself out in the fight on two fronts. Gay resigned as president of Harvard on Tuesday. She was the first African American to hold the post since the university’s founding in 1636 and only the second woman.
