In a time of quick news and quick accusations, it is important to note this: Claudine Gay did not resign from her position as president of Harvard University because of the allegations of anti-Semitism made against her. Despite their at least unfortunate appearance before the US Congress in December, these are untenable. Gay, the first African American woman to head what is probably the most famous university in the Western world, does not represent any anti-Semitic positions.
