According to the US media, at least eight people were killed at a music festival in Houston, Texas. Numerous others were injured at the Astroworld Festival, the broadcaster reported CNN on Saturday, citing the fire department. The exact background was initially unclear.
The cause was apparently a crowd. This happened during a performance by rapper Travis Scott, when the crowd was pushing towards the stage like that Houston Chronicle reported. An official statement from the organizers was initially not available on Saturday, reported CNN.
A total of 50,000 people came to the two-day festival. The performances scheduled for Saturday have been canceled. Among other things, performances by artists such as SZA and Bad Bunny were planned.
