Despite being tied up, a woman in Oklahoma was able to free herself. She then grabbed a gun and injured two men. The police now want to make changes.

Actually, the 36-year-old Rachel Zion Clay shouldn’t pose any danger: the woman from the US state was sitting on the back seat of a police patrol car and was handcuffed. Police officers arrested her after she had shown “erratic behavior,” according to her landlord.

But while the two police officers were taking the man’s statement, they were suddenly shot at. Clay was able to free herself from her handcuffs in the patrol car and then snatched an AR-15 assault rifle from the car. Then she opened fire on the officers and the landlord. According to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office, a police officer and a civilian suffered grazing injuries.

Video recordings from the patrol car and through the bodycams of the police officers at the crime scene document the scene. This also shows the surprise of the officers: “Did she get out of the handcuffs?” one of them calls out in disbelief when the first shots are fired. According to Deputy Sheriff Gary Boggess, the handcuffs were correctly applied, but Clay was able to free himself.

She then reached through an opening between the driver’s seat and the rear seat. The rifle was in a compartment that could be unlocked by a switch labeled “weapon” – so the woman didn’t have to search long. The caption is now set to change: “You could see that. We’re going to change that,” Boggess said. “When it happens, you look back and try to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Clay also found the appropriate ammo, used it, and then shot the cops. It was three and a half hours before she surrendered. Now she faces charges of shooting with intent to kill and is in jail. The two men who were injured by their gunshots have already been released from the hospital.
