US stock exchanges close in the red – analysts expect Nvidia numbers to tech rally by the end of the year

Frankfort, New York Despite strong figures from the US chip company Nvidia, the US stock exchanges have reduced their initial gains again. The Dow Jones index of standard values ​​closed 1.1 percent lower on Thursday at 34,099 points. The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 1.9 percent to 13,463.97 points. The broad S&P 500 lost 1.3 percent to 4376 points.

Thanks to the uninterrupted boom in artificial intelligence (AI), Nvidia exceeded market expectations with its figures published on Wednesday evening. The shares of the group initially shot up by almost seven percent, but leveled off at a plus of only 0.1 percent. At the same time, the papers of rivals turned negative again after a positive start to trading. The US industry giants AMD, Marvell, Intel and Palantir Technologies lost between 4.1 and 6.9 percent.
