Dave Grohl and his band Foo Fighters are mainly responsible for catchy tunes, headbanging and guitar riffs. Now they mainly want to give you goose bumps – with “Studio 666”, a horror film.

US rocker Dave Grohl and his bandmates from the Foo Fighters appear as filmmakers for the first time. With “Studio 666” the musicians want to bring a mixture of horror, rock and comedy to the screen.

“After decades of ridiculous music videos and lots of music documentaries, it was really time to take it to the next level … a full-length horror comedy,” the former Nirvana drummer quipped in a message published by industry journals Deadline.com and “Variety” was released on Tuesday.

New album will be released at the end of February

The story takes place in a villa in Southern California, where the Foo Fighters want to record a studio album. But in the mansion with a creepy past, Grohl is haunted by evil forces that threaten life and work. During the shooting, the new album “Medicine At Midnight” was actually recorded in the house, according to Grohl. In addition to the band members, actors like Will Forte and Jenna Ortega are there. Directed by BJ McDonnell. The film is slated to hit US cinemas at the end of February.
