Fans will have to wait a while for new music – but there will be some. However, Megan Thee Stallion wants to withdraw from the public first.

US rapper Megan Thee Stallion (“Body”) wants to put her music on hold for a while and take time for herself. “The music and entertainment industry can be grueling, so it’s important to take time off so you don’t burn out,” the 28-year-old told US magazine InStyle. “Life is a matter of balance.”

Her fans can expect new music as she gets better, the rapper explained. “Right now I’m focused on my healing.”

The Grammy winner, whose real name is Megan Pete, had also been in the headlines for the past few months because of a court case against Canadian rapper Tory Lanez (30). A Los Angeles jury in December found Lanez guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in July 2020. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the sentence for the rapper will be announced in mid-June. In April, the rapper wrote about the incident and the hate she received from many when she accused Lanez in an article for Elle magazine.
