US prosecutors found SBF had contact with witnesses. along with trying to “convince” the testimony

Federal prosecutors have asked the bail terms of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) to be amended to prevent attempts at witness testimony.

court documentslodgeOn January 27, it was revealed that The Department of Justice (DOJ) has asked U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan to stop Bankman-Fried communicates with “current or former employees” of FTX or Alameda.

Prosecutors requested this after they found Bankman-Fried contacted current FTX US General Counsel Ryne Miller via Signal and email on Jan. 15, seeking to “convince” Miller’s testimony.

The prosecutor also requested Bankman-Fried Banned from using encrypted communication applications.

The document also alleges that Bankman-Fried’s use of signals is consistent with the “history” of the use of the Application for the purpose of concealment.

Earlier in December 2022, Bankman-Fried Denied involvement or knowledge of the “Wirefraud” group chat on Signal before Bahamian police arrested him.

Such group chats have members of Bankman-Fried, including FTX co-founder Zixiao “Gary” Wang, FTX engineer Nishad Singh, and former Alameda CEO Caroline Ellison, allegedly used the group to transmit classified information about FTX and Alameda.
