The US military has complained about a dangerous maneuver by a Chinese fighter jet over the South China Sea. During the incident, the jet came within three meters of a US military aircraft.
According to the US military, a dangerous maneuver by a Chinese fighter jet over the South China Sea resulted in a near-collision with an American B-52 bomber. Accordingly, the pilot of the J-11 aircraft approached in an “unsafe and unprofessional” manner within ten feet (about three meters) of the American bomber, which was “lawfully operating over the South China Sea.” The J-11 flew under and in front of the aircraft.
According to US information, the incident occurred at night and with low visibility. The military also released a video purporting to show the fighter jet maneuvering. It was said that the flight behavior violated international aviation safety rules.
China: USA destabilize the location
The incident occurred during a visit by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Washington. There he met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. A meeting with US President Joe Biden’s security advisor, Jake Sullivan, is also scheduled for Friday at the White House.
China’s foreign ministry spokeswoman blamed the US for the unstable situation in the South China Sea. The fact that a US military aircraft travels all the way to China’s doorstep to show strength is the cause of the security risk at sea and in the air, said Mao Ning. China will continue to protect its territorial integrity.
