Hollywood is planning a new dinosaur film from the “Jurassic” universe. Scarlett Johansson, a former Marvel heroine, could play the leading role.

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson (39) could soon take on dinosaurs in front of the camera. The actress is negotiating for the lead role in the next adventure film from the “Jurassic” universe, reported the US industry portals “Hollywood Reporter” and “Deadline.com”. In January it was announced that the Universal Pictures studio was working on a new “Jurassic World” film with a planned theatrical release in July 2025.

Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”, “The Creator”) is on board as director. David Koepp, who wrote the screenplays for the Steven Spielberg films “Jurassic Park” (1993) and “Forgotten World: Jurassic Park” (1997), is responsible for the script.

The planned film will introduce new characters and a new story, it was said in January. It was initially not known whether previous actors such as Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern or Jeff Goldblum would be there.

Johansson has appeared in some major productions

To date, there have been six blockbuster films from the “Jurassic Park” series from 1993 to 2001, followed by “Jurassic World” from 2015 to 2022. The second trilogy was completed by “Jurassic World: A New Age” in 2022.

Marvel heroine Johansson is familiar with large productions. As the “Black Widow” character in the role of spy Natasha Romanoff, she appeared in the “Avengers” squad several times and also had a solo appearance as a Marvel fighter in 2021 with “Black Widow”.

Johansson has been nominated for an Oscar twice as a lead actress in “Marriage Story” and as a supporting actress in “Jojo Rabbit.”
