According to US media reports, Israel is said to have carried out a military operation against Iran. Explosions are said to have occurred in the metropolis of Isfahan. The Iranian government speaks of drones that were intercepted there.

According to consistent US media reports, Israel is said to have attacked Iran. ABC News, MSNBC and Fox News and other media outlets reported, citing US government officials, that Israel carried out a military operation in Iran that night.

This was a reaction to the Iranian air strikes on Israel last weekend. Several US media outlets reported one or more Israeli missiles attacking a target in Iran. The Pentagon has not yet confirmed the reports. So far there has been no statement from Israel either.

Fox News reported, citing a military source, that it was a “limited attack.” The USA was not involved and the Israelis informed the US government in advance.

Iranian media reported explosion in Isfahan

During the night, Iranian media reported an explosion near the airport in the city of Isfahan. Meanwhile, an Iranian government official said there was no missile attack on Iran, according to the Reuters news agency.

The explosions heard in Isfahan were due to the activation of Iran’s air defense systems, the government official tells Reuters. Iranian state television had previously reported that three drones had been spotted over Isfahan. The air defense was activated and destroyed the drones. There is no damage.

There is a military base in Isfahan. The country’s largest nuclear research center is also located in the cultural city. According to state media, air defense was activated in several provinces of the country and operations were temporarily suspended at several airports.
