In the event of a victory in the US presidential election Donald Trump according to an agency report billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson as Treasury Secretary brought into conversation. Paulson’s name was mentioned in the most recent deliberations, reports the Bloomberg agency, citing people familiar with the matter. The discussions are informal and preliminary. The ex-president has not yet made a decision about a possible cabinet. A Trump spokesman said there had been no consideration of who would serve in a second Trump administration. Paulson is the founder of Paulson & Co. The company did not initially respond to a query from the Reuters news agency.
According to the report, there are other candidates in the room for the post in a possible second term for Trump former US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, founder of trading and technology firm Susquehanna International Group, Jeff Yass, and founder of hedge fund Key Square Group, Scott Bessent.
