Hundreds of abuse victims of former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar have been awarded $ 380 million. Nassar was convicted in 2017 for his attacks against minors.

In the abuse scandal surrounding the now convicted former US gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, the victims of his machinations were awarded $ 380 million.

The decision in the multi-year legal battle between the US Gymnastics Federation, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee on the one hand and the victims on the other was made by a court in Indianapolis on Monday, as reported by several US media. The sum would cover claims of “hundreds of women”, wrote “ESPN”, including the Olympic champions Simone Biles, Alexandra Raisman and McKayla Maroney.

Since the summer of 2017, Nassar had been sentenced to prison terms of up to 175 years for his criminal attacks, including those against minors, in a total of three sentences. He pleaded guilty to sexually abusing several girls in the trials. Hundreds of gymnasts and their parents had sued him.
