The death of Foo Fighter’s drummer Taylor Hawkins has rocked the music world. Rock stars like Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol and Ringo Starr expressed their condolences on Twitter.

British cult rocker Ozzy Osbourne (73, Black Sabbath) praised Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died at the age of 50, as a “great person and amazing musician”.

Osbourne expressed his condolences to Hawkins’ family, band and fans on Twitter, adding: “See you on the other side – Ozzy.” The London-born 80s rock star Billy Idol (66, “Dancing with myself”) showed a picture of Hawkins on Twitter and wrote: “So tragic. Rest in peace”.

Queen drummer Roger Taylor (72) compared Hawkins’ death to Instagram with the loss of a younger favorite brother. “He was a kind, brilliant man and an inspirational mentor to my son Rufus and the best friend anyone could have. Devastated.” Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr (81) also expressed his condolences to Hawkins’ family and bandmates.

Hawkins was found dead in a hotel in the Colombian capital Bogotá during a Foo Fighters tour, the news magazine “Semana” reported online on Friday (local time). The rock band was supposed to perform at the Estereo Pìcnic music festival there.
