Brooke Shields opens up about sexual assault
It took many years and a lot of therapy for her to be able to talk about her experience of sexual violence. But she didn’t want to leave it at that, she told the “Hollywood Reporter”.
The US actress Brooke Shields (57) has spoken about her experiences with sexual violence. “I’ve come this far and we’ve come to a time as a society where we can talk about these things a lot more openly,” Shields told The Hollywood Reporter. But it took her many years and a lot of therapy to get that far. Now she wants to be an activist against sexual assault.
According to media reports, the documentary “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields” about the actress, which premiered at the Sundance Festival on Friday, addresses a sexual assault on Shields in her 20s. Shields rose to fame as a young girl with films like The Blue Lagoon.
